ATTENTION ALL HANDS!
Since 2017 Stand Up for Towel Day has provided a place to gather after a long day of towel carrying for stand up comedy, slam poetry, sketches, improv and more in homage to Douglas Adams and the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and in aid of Save the Rhino.
Towel Day 2019 is fast approaching and we have some exciting news to bring to you! As some of you are already aware, STAND UP FOR TOWEL DAY is putting on a magnificent show once again! Join us in Cambridge this year, birthplace of the Frood himself for a fun filled Towel Day event! Galactic Hitchhikers is teaming up to bring you some fabulous prizes! Prizes that are not just amazing, they are…amazingly amazing!
How do you get these fabulous prizes?
Costume Contest!
Grab your tickets to the shin dig NOW, then get your galactic gear on. A second head, or a fashionable third arm, whales welcome, petunias too! Dig into the Guide for inspiration, we want to see Zarquon return, a few Arthurs, and a six pack of Fords at minimum! Winners will be announced at the event. You may be spending a year dead for tax reasons, but you have to be there to win!
A splendid time is guaranteed for all! This year’s line up includes but isn’t limited to a Douglas Adams Cambridge walk with David Haddock, and the second annual Vogon poetry anti-slam, hosted by our laureate, Cerys Bradley. Don’t miss Towel fighting with Paul Duncan McGarrity, or our chat with David Learner, who played Marvin on stage and screen.
There will even be Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters courtesy of our hosts, the Blue Moon and Andy Mil of the Cocktail Trading Company, who gave his recipe for the first Stand Up for Towel Day in 2017. Please gargle responsibly.
All this and more at the 2019 Stand Up for Towel Day! Check out the full details HERE
All proceeds to Save the Rhino

Some of the prizes for this year’s costume contest are provided by Galactic Hitchhikers, the wholly remarkable blog, home of offbeat observations on Life, the Universe…and Everything! Win one of the coolest froody fan art T-Shirts this side of Ursa Minor designed by Zaxley Nash. There’s a hoopy little whale to decorate your desk or garden, a mega-hoopy hip for the summer or galactic travel beach towel, and much much more!

So, what’s in the small print? You need to be there! So hurry and get your tickets, or you will be late…as in the late (Your Name Here). Time may be relative, and space may be big, but space and time to reserve your spot at this year’s event are limited! Don’t wait, grab your tickets NOW!
